15 Years in 15 Days: Day 10

Day 10 of OWC's 15 Years in 15 Days covers what we believe to be our most ambitious accomplishment in our history. In 2019, OWC found that the women of Narayanpur, Nepal had interest in bringing women's health education programs to their community. In response, Professor Collum worked with Sarita Tamalsina, as well Sudha and Swachalika Panthy, to bring a Days for Girls program to Narayanpur. Working with volunteers, the OWC team brought over 80 women's sanitation kits to Nepal in 2019. On July 6th of that year, the women of OWC led a Days for Girls Education program with Sudha Panthy and teachers from the Narayanpur community. OWC had hoped for 30 women to attend, but 75 women attended the program, drastically exceeding our expectations. Everyone who attended left with a Days for Girls health kit, and from the overwhelmingly positive response from the community, we dream of one day helping start a recurring Days for Girls education program in Narayanpur.
